Fertility & Maternal Mental Health Therapy in Texas
Compassionate Online Therapy for Women Facing Fertility Challenges and Maternal Health Concerns
The journey to motherhood isn’t always simple. For many women, reproductive challenges, fertility concerns, and maternal health issues can bring deep emotional pain, uncertainty, and isolation. Whether you’re facing infertility, navigating IVF or other fertility treatments, coping with pregnancy loss, or struggling with postpartum adjustment, you may feel overwhelmed and unsure where to turn.
As a maternal mental health therapist, I provide a safe, supportive space for women across Texas to process the emotions that come with trying to conceive, pregnancy, and the postpartum experience.
Understanding Fertility and Maternal Health Challenges
Fertility issues affect far more than the body—they impact your heart, identity, and relationships. Many women experience:
Sadness, grief, or loss related to infertility or miscarriage
Anxiety and depression while trying to conceive or during fertility treatments
Shame or self-blame for what feels out of your control
Relationship strain as partners cope differently or communication breaks down
Isolation from friends or family who don’t understand your experience
These emotional struggles are normal, but they can be incredibly heavy to carry on your own.
How Fertility Counseling Can Help
Therapy offers a space to pause, breathe, and process your emotions without judgment. Together, we can work to:
Build emotional resilience during infertility and reproductive treatments
Reduce anxiety, depression, and stress related to trying to conceive
Strengthen connection and communication with your partner
Heal from pregnancy loss or birth trauma
Reconnect with your sense of identity and purpose beyond fertility
Explore new paths toward peace and self-compassion
My Approach to Therapy
I’m Lindsay Merrell, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker providing virtual therapy for women and couples throughout Texas. I specialize in fertility counseling, maternal mental health, and trauma-informed therapy.
My approach combines evidence-based methods—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy—to help you process difficult emotions, rebuild self-trust, and move forward with clarity and hope.
Having experienced challenges myself, I understand the emotional complexity of this journey on a personal level. Therapy helped me find healing and strength, and I’m passionate about helping other women do the same.
Let's Work Through This Together
